Already have a Glare Defence diffuser but it won't stay on your pot light? This is for you.
Glare Defence diffusers attach to your pot light magnetically, but this only works if your trim is magnetic and strong enough to hold the weight of the diffuser. A common issue is testing your trim with a small fridge magnet or a phone, getting a slight pull, and assuming it'll work, only to find the diffuser won't hold once installed.
That slight pull from a weak magnet doesn't mean your trim can support a diffuser. Depending on the size, diffusers can weigh up to around 200g, and they need a much stronger magnetic connection than a small magnet can tell you about.
This adhesive mount solves that. It adheres directly to your trim and gives your diffuser a dedicated magnetic surface to click onto, so the connection is reliable regardless of your trim material or how magnetic it is.
This listing is for the mount only. Your existing diffuser will work with it as-is, no other parts needed.
Compatible with all Glare Defence magnetic diffusers. Simply match the same diameter and colour of your current diffusers.
Installation:
1. Turn the light off and let it cool. Clean the trim with 70% isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth. Let it dry completely.
2. Hold the mounting ring in place with the red liner side facing the trim. Check that it sits flat and centered.
3. Remove the red liner. Sliding a thin blade between the liner and the adhesive can make liner removal easier. Avoid touching the adhesive. Press the mount onto the trim for 30 seconds, working around the ring.
4. Wait 24 hours before attaching your diffuser. Full adhesive strength continues to build over 72 hours.
5. Hold the diffuser under the mount, the embedded magnets will click together. Exact orientation is not required.
